CONTRACTOR REASINT s.r.o. Rožnov p.Radhoštěm
BUILT-UP AREA 351 m²

The aim of the project was to restore the original appearance of the Functionalist villa and to resolve additional separate living on the plot for multigenerational purposes. The original building was designed in 1933-34 by architects Lubomír and Čestmír Šlapeta as a recreational villa for Ostrava attorney Josef Vondráček and his family. The building is conceived as a family house that retains the existing floors and basement of the villa and a single-storey extension The use of the existing garage and outdoor pool is also addressed. The original villa will be used as a residence by the investor, while the extension will provide living space for parents and guests. The extension is conceived as a long, single-storey rectangular prism attached to the existing house by a slender glazed neck. This hallway serves as the entrance space to both the villa and the extension and is also the landing for the staircase from the basement. Part of the extension serves as a carport. The new part is distinguished from the original villa by its form and the employed materials: the black Trespa panels contrast with the white plaster on the Functionalist villa.
