Konárovice – IPMB headquarters

The administrative building of the IPMB company is situated along the main road in the town of Konárovice near Kolín. The building is in the shape of a simple rectangular prism into which atria have been inserted in two places. The lower floor functions as an operational facility for the construction firm, the upper floor as office spaces. The materials and design were intended as an example of the precision of the individual trades and the attention the construction firm pays to detail when realising commercial projects. The main decorative feature is the exposed KB Blok concrete bricks, both on the actual load-bearing masonry and as exterior cladding. The interior of the building is washed in daylight through large-format glazing in aluminium frames. Hard materials and the technical solutions in the interior are supplemented with contrasting features such as monochrome epoxy flooring, cedar ceilings and solid-wood furniture.
