Lojovice – Family house

INVESTOR private
REALIZATION 2007
CONTRACTOR Josef Strnad Havlíčkův Brod
The building plot is situated in the town of Lojovice, which is located in the Velké Popovice Nature Park. The plot slopes steeply to the south, providing scenic views of the hills opposite. The local building code determined the size of the built-up area, the height and shape of the roof and the roofing material. Designed as a two-storey structure without a basement, the house stands parallel to the contours of the upper part of the plot; the lower floor is partially sunk into the ground. The mass of the classic rectangular prism with a gable roof is bisected by a diagonally turned prism (oriel) facing the most scenic view of the landscape. The main entrance is from the south side. The ground floor holds a large social area, two guest rooms, closets, a separate bathroom, laundry room and a storage space accessible from the outside. A masonry staircase leads to the upper level and the central living space with connected kitchen and a spacious pantry, dining room and living zone in the projecting oriel. The dining room is connected to the east terrace behind the house. This floor also holds the master bedroom with a closet, bathroom and office. The lower floor is built using classic masonry technology, while the upper floor is a wood structure with a cathedral ceiling. An open parking space is provided at the base of the hill, and a staircase leads up to the actual house. Changes were made to the design during construction: different materials were used on the facade, the staircase inside the house was moved and the composition of some of the glaze surfaces was modified.
