The family house is situated on the north side of the plot, on the corner of two streets. A distinct architectural element is the atrium, which highlights the prominent corner position of the house and provides privacy from the street. The house is cut into a break in the terrain, and the floor created in this way shares a technical character with the attached garage. The floor plan of the new house can be described as L-shaped with a distinctly longer part with living spaces opening to the garden on the south side. Part of the house has two floors, and a basement partially copies the floor plan, creating covered spaces by the entrance and the terrace with a passageway to the garden in the western section. The upper floor is in the shape of a cylinder that is set apart spatially and set off by its cladding from the actual mass of the house, a simple rectangular prism clad in black and set on a lightened basement made from transparent materials, creating a pedestal for a study of a similar character. The terrace facing the garden behind the house is partially shaded by a mobile sail and is divided by plants. The pool and sunbathing deck are located separately on the plot. The house employs a combination of masonry construction for the vertical structure coupled with reinforced concrete ceilings. The vertical structure is clad, with a gap left for ventilation purposes. Both roofs are flat. The basic floor plan is approximately 30 x 8.1 m. The height of the attic on the ground floor is 6.44 m, on the upper floor 8.84 m. Photo: Tomáš Dittrich
